Two teams that began their Major League Rugby accounts in 2020 will meet for the first time in Marietta on Saturday. Rugby ATL were due to host the New England Free Jacks just a few days after the season was cancelled last year and fans will be hoping the forthcoming battle lives up to its potential.

Chance Wenglewski starts in the No1 shirt in the only change to the pack. Manasa Saulo returns to the bench with Jonas Petrakopoulos covering loosehead prop this week. Alex Maughan sits out entirely to rest the sore back that took him out of the Toronto game early.

New England recovered from a slow first half to defeat Austin in Weymouth last weekend. It builds on the dominant showing against San Diego and they are now in a dead heat with ATL, just three points behind East Conference leaders New York.

There are just two changes to the match day 23. Poasa Waqanibau returns on the wing with Peceli Rinakama dropping to the bench and Danny Collins missing altogether. Injury rules out Sean Yacoubian so it’s another St. Mary’s product who covers scrumhalf in Tom Brusati.

Major League Rugby: Major League Rugby (MLR) is a professional rugby league, launched in April 2018. It is an initiative of the American rugby community, in partnership with private investors, who believe that American rugby can thrive at the highest levels—as a commercial enterprise; as an influential player on the international scene; and as a participation sport at the youth and senior level. MLR is the pinnacle of American rugby, and provides a rallying point for local communities, a focal point for American rugby fans, and an aspirational destination for young athletes.
