Summary:
The Director of Recreation is responsible for overseeing the recreation programs and facilities within an organization, ensuring that they are engaging, safe, and well-maintained to meet the needs of the community or members.

Job Responsibility:
– Develop and implement a variety of recreational programs and activities for different age groups and interests.
– Manage the recreation facilities, including scheduling, maintenance, and safety protocols.
– Hire, train, and supervise staff members to ensure smooth operation of recreation programs.
– Collaborate with other departments to coordinate events and programs that align with the organization’s overall goals.
– Monitor budget and expenses related to recreation programs and facilities.
– Evaluate the success of programs through feedback, participation rates, and other relevant metrics.

Candidate Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
– Proven experience in managing recreation programs and facilities, preferably in a leadership role.
– Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage staff and interact with members or the community.
– Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to recreational activities.
– Ability to think creatively and develop innovative programs to engage participants.
– Good organizational skills and attention to detail to oversee multiple programs and facilities simultaneously.
