• To create and implement the optimal procurement and sourcing strategies for assigned business units and categories aligned to the company’s objectives
• To manage end-to-end procurement transaction processes and mitigate supply-side risks for the business unit
• To establish and maintain equitable relations with suppliers spread across broad variety of markets and countries

1. Strategic:

• Develop sourcing strategies in line with the overall business strategy to ensure timely and cost effective procurement
• Leverage opportunities in futures markets to create drive long term purchasing plans that help optimize contribution margin and mitigate risks within the supply chain
• Develop and maintain comprehensive policy and procedures for all commodities purchasing to support an environment that is ethical and free of conflict of interest, ensures compliance with IFFCO policies and complies with all local, state and governmental laws and regulations

2. Operational:

• Responsible for developing the overall position strategy and guidelines for international & Derivative trading for assigned commodities and present the same to the management.
• Accountable for tracking, analysis and maintaining periodic information on price trends, international market position, crop estimation and market reports on grains. Provide key insights  to senior management to take decisions related to procurement and hence on business revenues and margins
• Responsible for identifying the relevant suppliers based on the clear  understanding of the current market trends, negotiating the contracts to procure the right amount of supplies and making sure of timely delivery to the manufacturing sites
• Promote effective working relations with suppliers by establishing and maintaining equitable and mutually profitable relationships across a broad variety of suppliers markets, countries and capabilities
• Maximize procurement leverage in the market place to obtain the most favorable terms and conditions of purchase
• Champion development of market intelligence within the team on various drivers influencing commodities procurement such as demand & supply, futures pricing, shipping and logistics, government regulations, currency fluctuations, etc.
• Guide the department in collecting, analysing and reporting supplier performance metrics to the top management
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and Sales on risks, pricing and costs evolution associated to optimize cost of goods supplied, improve quality standards and enhance availability of primary raw materials.
• Collaborate with the logistics team for timely execution of import of  assigned commodities shipments to the manufacturing site as per the agreed SLAs
• Direct the team to monitor plant inventory levels to assess and create procurement plans
• Identify risks that can impact supplier delivery and guide the department to develop mitigation plans based on risk and vulnerability analyses on spend areas
• Support the process of vendor audits in alignment with the quality policy of the organization
• Guide the department to develop and maintain information services in the areas of new items and services, new sources, new materials and methods
• Lead team members on price forecasting and prepare information on purchase prices and conditions to enable improved budgeting and cash forecasting
• Ensure all supplier contracts are as per required legal terms, conditions and cost/service components are in place to meet company requirements
• Direct the team to ensure that purchase orders, contracts, bids and service agreements are processed in compliance with IFFCO’s policies and procedures

10+ years of related experience in procurement, trading or merchandising with at least 5 years in FMCG organization

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Agriculture related discipline
• MBA/Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from a reputed university is an added advantage
