The OEC: The Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC) is an international intergovernmental organisation, founded in January 2020 by countries from across the Global South, to “contribute to the equitable, just, and prosperous social transformation of societies by promoting balanced and inclusive education, in order to attain the fundamental rights to liberty, justice, dignity, sustainability, social cohesion, and material and immaterial security for the peoples of the world”.

Role Summary:
The Knowledge Development and Democratisation Section of REEF is responsible for fostering a free and open, collective exchange of ideas, research, and knowledge (from academic and non-academic domains) among Member States and Associate Members (and across the Global South in general).
Under the overall authority of the Secretary General, the guidance of the Under-Secretary-General for Research, Evaluation and Foresight (REEF), and the direct supervision of the Chief of Section of Knowledge Development and Democratisation, Multilateral Initiatives Coordinators work collaboratively to develop and implement collective roadmaps and action plans, based on cross-sectoral consultations, to meet the Section’s goals.
The Multilateral Initiatives Coordinator (Knowledge Democratisation) will be responsible for coordinating initiatives to improve access to higher education and transdisciplinary knowledge among Member States and Associate Members. Specifically, the candidate will work in close consultation with the USG-REEF, the Chief of Section and with relevant teams and departments to coordinate the development of the Greater South Information Sharing System (GreSIS) – a new digital platform that will grant institutional access to references and international academic articles and publications and endogenous knowledge databases for the use of higher education institutions and researchers of Member States and Associate Members.
