Job Title: Process Operator
Reporting: Primary Process Control Specialist
Location: Tongi, Gazipur
Position Purpose:
The Process Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the central SCADA-controlled process machine within the assigned Primary area (e.g., CFT, CRES etc.). The role ensures stable process parameters, smooth material flow, and consistent output, while adhering to JTI’s safety, quality, and environmental standards. The Process Operator plays a key role in driving initiatives by maintaining high machine efficiency, minimizing process deviations, and contributing to continuous improvement.
What Will You Do:
Process Operation & Monitoring: Operate and oversee the SCADA-controlled central machine in the assigned process area. Ensure stable operation of process parameters to achieve required product quality and output. Adjust settings as required to maintain consistency and minimize deviations. Monitor and record process data through SCADA and other reporting tools.
Efficiency & KPI Achievement: Support delivery of production plans by ensuring maximum uptime of the process machine. Minimize losses, downtime, and waste through proactive monitoring and intervention. Contribute to achieving area KPIs (quality, cost, efficiency, safety, delivery).
Continuous Improvement: Support root cause analysis of deviations, breakdowns, or quality faults. Suggest and implement process improvements to optimize machine efficiency and reduce costs. Maintain 5S3R and visual management standards in the assigned area.
Quality Management & Continuous Improvement: Ensure products meet JTI’s quality benchmarks by conducting regular inspections and monitoring production parameters. Sort defective products and reduce waste per JTI operational standards. Actively participate in Integrated Work System (IWS) initiatives, CI processes, and the development of equipment standards to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all JTI EHS standards, regulations, and safe operating procedures. Ensure all machine guards, interlocks, and safety devices are functional. Take immediate action on unsafe conditions and report near misses or hazards. Operate in line with JTI’s Code of Conduct and corporate compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Support: Work closely with maintenance teams, process control specialists, and quality staff to ensure smooth process operation. Share timely feedback on process performance and deviations. Provide support during maintenance interventions and changeovers. Contribute actively in team meetings, shift handovers, and knowledge sharing.
Other (if applicable): Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or line manager to support the team and production requirements.
We Expect from You:
- Diploma / technical education in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Process Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in process/machine operation.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, SCADA operation).
- Strong understanding of SCADA-controlled process operations.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- English language for effective verbal and written communication.
