MSPglobal 2.0 is a project designed to support the implementation of some of the Actions of the Updated Joint Roadmap to accelerate Marine/Maritime Spatial Planning processes worldwide (MSProadmap 2022-2027). The MSProadmap is a joint initiative by IOC-UNESCO and the European Commission. At the global level, the expected project’s result is a pool of practitioners and stakeholders ready to support MSP. For that, tools complementary to the MSPglobal International Guide on MSP will be co-developed together with experts working on specific topics, such as data and climate change. Besides, new capacity development opportunities will be created through a multilingual online training and another edition of the MSPforum. At regional level, the project will focus on transboundary pilots in the Gulf of Guinea and the Western Pacific. Through national and regional activities such as meetings, trainings and workshops, the project will provide support towards institutionally strengthened MSP processes.
The Project Coordinator will work under the overall authority of the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO and the direct supervision of the Head of the Marine Policy and Regional Coordination Section. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of project’s activities in close consultation with the European Commission, Member States and collaborators:
