To whom it may concern
I am a 30-year-old female, currently residing and working in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
I obtained my Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing- and Tourism Management at the Northwest University of Potchefstroom, South Africa in 2010. In 2013 I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of South Africa. Whilst at university, I was actively involved in student life, staying in a residence. During my four years in the residence, I took part in various sport and cultural activities and served on numerous committees.
In March 2012 I started my teaching career at Bracken High School, primarily as a Language, Economic and Management Sciences and Computer Application Technology (ICT) and Business teacher for grade 8- 11. I have coached and organised hockey and touch rugby, this gave me the opportunity to work with groups of people from different cultures, backgrounds and ages. I am also responsible for several administrative tasks at school.
In September 2017 I got the opportunity to teach abroad. Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, better known as ADEC to some, offered me a position as a Design & Technology (Computers, Robotics and Programming) teacher for a Cycle 2 Girls School. I currently still teach at the same school. I teach Grade 6 and Grade 7 girls.
Due to the Ministry of Education’s 2020 “Emiratization” vision, ADEC terminated my 3-year contract after just 1 year of employment. I then got an opportunity with Liwa International School for Girls from August 2018. I love the students, but do not get support from management in getting documents and medical insurance sorted out and this is a big problem for me as I need to get residency sorted so that I can sponsor my husband and my baby.
There are also not opportunities for my husband to work in the UAE, therefor we feel it is time to move on to a new adventure.
This teaching experience is still a dream come true, therefor I would like to market myself for a teaching position at your school/ institution. I can guarantee that I will be an asset to your school/ institution if you give me an opportunity to join your team.
Working with people, teaching new skills and encouraging individuals are some of the things I enjoy most about my position. I enjoy being outdoors, doing something different on a daily basis and I am willing to learn new skills.
I have a passion for teaching and will do anything to help my students improve their way of life. I do not like a job half done, and am thus dedicated to completing all tasks that I take on and doing them properly. I work well under pressure, being able to withstand great pressure to meet deadlines.
I will sincerely appreciate yet another opportunity to keep teaching abroad.
I believe that the above-mentioned skills and characteristics will assist me in teaching students of all ages as well as achieving desired outcomes.
A detailed resume is attached. Please email or phone me for any further enquiries or to arrange an interview.
Sincerely,
Liezl Stevens
