Reporting to: Tax Manager

DIRECT TAX MANAGER

The Direct Tax Manager is responsible for execution of Income Tax Reporting (“Tax Pack”) and compliance, and support the Country Tax manager for Tax improvement projects in order to be fully compliant with the Income Tax legislation applicable for the company. To monitor local legislation and tax practice, assess impact on JTI CIT Computation; and to be responsible for TP matters (computation and reporting).

As the Direct Tax Manager, you will:

• Tax compliance:
  • Prepare all the Tax Reporting Packages.
  • Analyze the data in the SAP/Provided by internal stakeholder to reflect in the Tax packages.
  • Communicate the Tax payment advice to Treasury in timely manner.
  • Custodian of Direct Tax, Withholding Tax notices and prepare responses of the Tax notices.
• Assess Withholding Tax consultation request from the internal stakeholder and communicate the consultation result.
• Maintain and monitor the tax condition in the NAVS, and if require update the tax condition.
• Communicate with the Vendor for any Tax related documentation required for withholding Tax purpose.
• Execute the withholding certificate for the vendors.
• Plan, communicate and collaborate with cross-functional team for the documents preparation for defense in Tax Assessment and the filing of Annual Corporate Income Tax Return.
• Maintain working relationship with Direct Tax Authorities.
• Analyze the withholding Tax in GL level, Tax codes in the PO and recommend to FCG, GIP if there any error to rectify.
• Tax Projects:
  • Support the Country Tax Manager on Tax projects and Improvements.
  • Develop the functional Tax awareness among internal stakeholders.
• People management
  • Develop direct report in terms of organizational awareness and effective collaboration to support JTI Bangladesh priorities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Business. Preferably in Finance/Accounting. Partly Qualified Accountant is preferably
• 5+ work experiences related with Corporate Income Tax. Previous experience in Tobacco or FMCG is highly desirable
• Native language (Bangla) and an English-Professional Working Proficiency (subject to test).
• MS Excel-Intermediate level at least.
• Deep knowledge of Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing. Knowledge about IFRS and Statutory Local Financial Statements.
• Ability to plan and advise on tax planning, risk assessment and lead overall improvement projects.
• External Communication and relationship
